To improve care, Alliance for Health works to Rethink Healthy
Keep doing what you’re doing wait to get sick to go to the doctor. That’s how it works, right?
The Alliance for Health, partnered with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality urges you to rethink that strategy, and in turn Rethink Healthy.
The new rethinkhealthy.org explains all components of the Alliance’s initiative: Learn, Ask, Act. It focuses on, keeping a dialogue open with your doctor, asking questions, planning ahead and changing unhealthy habits.
The
site sports an interactive statistics area that compares data from
numerous hospitals in Michigan amongst themselves and against national
averages. The site also boasts an extensive list of health resources by
county.
“One of the key features of this site is the statistical data it provides, but data is only useful if you are able to do something with it,” said Ryan Slack, Web Director. “We worked hard to make it easy for visitors to understand and interpret what they are reading, while also making it easy for those maintaining the site to post new data as it becomes available.”
We
joined up with Alliance for Health on the rethinkhealthy.org project
because we see the benefits of changing health action and education. A
more proactive, educated populace will lead to improved outcomes for
both patients and health care providers.
There
is no one single way to improve healthcare quality, but the Alliance
For Health sets a framework for doctors, patients and other service
providers to work with. Keep yourself healthy by rethinking what
healthy should be.
